I worked as a general practitioner in Cuba as soon as I obtained my medical degree at the University of Havana.
Thereafter, I completed several internships in order to find the most appropriate specialization.
Soon after my arrival in Geneva, I joined the Department of Psychiatry of the HUG (University Hospitals of Geneva) where I completed my training as a FMH specialist in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy.
Between 1995 and 1998, I enriched my clinical experience in psychiatry and psychotherapy as part of the Addictions service.
I further developed my skills in general adult psychiatry fort 4 years. I completed my training in 2003.
I was then appointed Chief Resident at the HUG where I started to practice and further develop my skills in an in-patient care setting (unit specialized in Mood Disorders Treatment, then Admissions and Short Stays unit).
In 2004, I decided to diversify my competences and joined a Brief Therapy Centre (CTB) ambulatory care unit. In this context, I welcomed, assessed and oriented new patients, as well as dealt with crisis management and/or handled mood (emotional) disorders situations.
Between 2007 and 2008, I pursued my career in the Mood Disorders program, more specifically in the field of treatments for depression and resistant depression.
In 2009, I returned to the CTB to prepare my transition to private practice in an ambulatory setting.
I can provide assistance and deliver care in several languages:
